Medium content automation pricing, for stories that credit your site.

A Medium writing system is $500, one-time: the Single-Platform System. It adapts your best articles for Medium’s readers, keeps the mix mostly educational, and prepares each one for Medium’s own import, which credits your website as the original. You run the import and publish.

What a Medium system costs.

Medium is one platform, so it is the Single-Platform System. Medium’s help page on its API says it “will not be issuing any new integration tokens”, so the system prepares and tracks, and the import itself is a short step a person takes.

What it builds
A workflow that adapts your articles for Medium and tracks where each one lands
How it publishes
Through Medium’s own import, which records your page as the original
AI and Medium
Every story disclosed and edited, inside Medium’s policy on AI writing
Included
Three months of maintenance for defects in what we delivered
After that
Optional care from $250 a month, or nothing at all
One-time setup
$500, a starting price for a defined scope

Medium is often paired with a Substack newsletter, because one researched piece can be adapted for both sets of readers. Medium and Substack together are the Two-Platform System at $750. Writing the articles for your own website is a separate job, quoted on its own: website blog pricing. Every tier is on the content automation pricing page.

Mostly educational, sometimes promotional.

We suggest a Medium account teaches far more than it sells. People read Medium to learn, and their attention is short once they feel sold to. So most stories educate, and a promotional piece appears once or twice a week.

A week’s stories

  • Educational stories

Explain how something works, with no ask attached
  • Promotional stories

About your work, once or twice a week

Rough shares — a shape, not a measurement

An educational story earns the reader’s trust, and a promotional one spends a little of it. Kept in that balance, the account builds a readership that is still there when you have something to announce.

Medium’s AI content policy allows AI-assisted writing that is labelled, keeps writing mostly generated by AI out of its paywall, and shows undisclosed AI-assisted text only to the author’s own followers. Its distribution guidelines go further: a story is Boosted only if it “is human-created and does not appear to be generated by Artificial Intelligence”. So every draft is edited into your words, and labelled where AI helped, before it goes up.

How a story moves from your site to Medium.

Your website stays the original. Medium’s import tool backdates the story to its original date and adds a canonical link to your page, which tells search engines which copy came first, so the Medium version adds readers without taking anything from the site.

The import is the one step a person takes, because Medium’s closed API leaves no supported way to automate it. It takes a minute, and the system prepares everything around it: the adapted text, the tags and a reminder. The full workflow is on our Medium content system page.

What n8n, Zapier and Make can do on Medium.

For a new account, nothing that publishes. Every tool that once posted to Medium needs an integration token, and Medium no longer issues them.

n8n’s Medium node can create a post and list publications, but its credential is an integration token from Medium’s settings. Make’s Medium app is marked legacy: “Existing connections still work, but you can’t create new connections.” We found no Medium app on Zapier.

So the tools work on the parts around Medium instead: turning your article into the adapted version, keeping the tags and the import queue, and noting where each story lands once it is live. The import and the publish button stay with a person; the import takes about a minute.

Questions about Medium content automation pricing.

How much does Medium content automation cost?

$500, one-time, as the Single-Platform System. That builds the workflow that adapts your articles for Medium, prepares each import so your page stays the original, and tracks where every story lands. Three months of maintenance are included, and care after that is optional, from $250 a month.

Does posting on Medium hurt my website’s SEO?

Not when Medium credits your page as the original, which its import tool does by adding a canonical link to your page. Search engines then treat your website as the source.

Can the system publish to Medium automatically?

No. Medium has stopped issuing API access to new integrations, so a new system cannot post through it. The system prepares each story and a person runs Medium’s import.

How much promotion should a Medium account do?

We suggest mostly educational stories, with a promotional piece once or twice a week. Readers come to Medium to learn, and an account that sells in every story loses them.

Is AI-written content allowed on Medium?

Medium allows AI-assisted writing if it is labelled. Writing mostly generated by AI cannot go behind the paywall or be Boosted, and AI-assisted text without a label is shown only to the author’s own network, which is why every draft is edited into your own words.
